I've always been drawn to homes, how they function, how they're built, and how thoughtful design can completely change the way people live.

I graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in Interior Design, specializing in space planning and interior architecture, while competing as a Division I student-athlete. After graduation, I worked for design firms in Portland, Oregon, and Pullman, Washington, where I collaborated with builders, created AutoCAD drawings, developed floor plans, and designed spaces for a variety of residential and commercial projects.

As my career evolved, so did my passion for the homebuilding process. I earned my real estate license, experienced home renovations firsthand, and eventually designed and built my own home. Going through that process gave me a whole new appreciation for what homeowner's experience. I understand the excitement, the overwhelm, and the hundreds of decisions that come with building a home because I've lived it myself.

After spending twelve wonderful years at home raising my two boys, I had the opportunity to work alongside a luxury home builder. It reminded me how much I loved collaborating with builders, solving design challenges, and helping homeowners bring their vision to life. That experience inspired me to start AP Home Design NW.

Today, I partner with homeowners and builders to create exceptional luxury custom homes. I genuinely love collaborating with builders, walking a project before drywall, solving layout challenges, and helping clients make confident decisions before they become costly changes. Being involved early in the process allows me to help shape the overall vision of a home and ensure every decision supports that vision from concept through completion.

To me, great design is about so much more than beautiful finishes. It's about creating homes that feel intentional, function effortlessly, and truly reflect the people who live in them. I believe exceptional homes are created through thoughtful planning, strong collaboration, and careful attention to every detail, and I feel incredibly grateful to do what I love every day.

Building or remodeling a home involves hundreds of decisions. My role is to simplify that process by providing clear direction, thoughtful guidance, and design leadership from the earliest planning stages through final installation. 

From our first meeting to the final walkthrough, you work directly with me throughout the entire project. There are no handoffs, account managers, or multiple layers of communication. I remain personally involved, ensuring every decision supports the overall vision of your home. 

Beautiful spaces should also function beautifully. Every recommendation is made with both aesthetics and everyday living in mind, creating homes that are timeless, functional, and thoughtfully designed. 

Years of collaborating with homeowners, builders, architects, contractors, and trusted trade partners have given me a deep understanding of how design decisions influence construction, budgets, scheduling, and the overall success of a project. I believe the best results come from early collaboration and thoughtful planning. 

I've built strong relationships with respected builders, vendors, suppliers, and skilled trades throughout the industry. These partnerships help projects run more smoothly while giving clients access to trusted professionals and valuable resources.

My role extends far beyond selecting finishes. I help shape the overall vision, guide important decisions, coordinate with the project team, solve challenges as they arise, and help ensure the finished home reflects the original design intent. 

I intentionally take on a limited number of projects each year so I can remain responsive, accessible, and fully engaged throughout the design and construction process. My clients receive the personal attention, communication, and guidance that exceptional custom homes deserve.
